What is a Joint Education Programme (JEP)? Joint Education Programmes (JEPs) occur in various forms. When offering community education courses, a Joint Education Programme can be a single course or programme of courses that are delivered in collaboration with Aoraki Polytechnic through a Memorandum of Agreement.
Aoraki Polytechnic’s Role with JEPs Aoraki Polytechnic is accredited as a tertiary institution to offer a range of approved programmes and courses. The accreditation and approval of a tertiary institution is based on Quality Management Systems that are audited against academic quality standards. The Joint Education Programmes that Aoraki Polytechnic offers are guided by Aoraki Polytechnic’s Quality Management Systems.
Background Joint Education Programmes (JEPs) arose from identified training needs in the business sector and from particular interests generated in the community. Aoraki Polytechnic responded to these needs and interests by working co-operatively with groups in their respective fields and creating collaborative working relationships through these associations.
Initially JEPs were part of the Business, Outdoor Education, Sport, Media and Information Technology (BOESMIT) Faculty at Aoraki Polytechnic. In January 2003, the JEP Faculty came into existence.
