Diploma in Applied Business (Level 5)

Be a specialist generalist, as a manager or team leader in business you need a broad knowledge of business practices. Gain a foundation stone of all business practices by being exposed to eight different aspects of business including accounting, organisation and management, marketing, business communication and two other papers of your choice. This programme is the opportunity to have a national qualification in one year.

What will this programme cover?

Two compulsory papers:

  • 530 Organisation and management
  • 560 Business Communication

Plus any four other papers from NZ Diploma of Business
(If these four papers are all 600 level, the qualification may be awarded as a Level 6 Diploma).

What do you need to apply?

For entry to this diploma it is desirable you have at least 50 credits at NCEA Level 2 or above made up of at least 12 credits in each of three subjects, at least 8 Literacy credits (selected from a schedule of approved achievement standards and unit standards) in English or Te Reo Maori - 4 credits in reading and 4 credits in writing. You will also need to have a minimum of 14 numeracy credits at Level one or higher in Mathematics or Pangarau on the National Qualifications Framework.
