If you have an interest in current, local, national and
international news, a broad education, an interest in people, an
inquiring mind and the ability to work under pressure, then you
could utilise these strengths to create a career in journalism.
To pursue a professional career in journalism the entry level
qualification is the National Diploma in Journalism (Multimedia),
which is embedded in our Diploma. Aoraki is one of only five
accredited journalism schools in New Zealand chosen by Fairfax
Media to train its interns.
Our Journalism programme is tutored by an experienced journalist
and is renowned for preparing industry-ready journalists who walk
straight into sought-after media jobs around the country. As well
as theory studies you will write and publish stories for local
newspapers, gaining real experience on the requirements of a
working journalist.
