Caroline Dickson
Diploma in Beauty Therapy (Lv5) with City & Guilds
In 2012 the Diploma in Beauty Therapy (Lv5) City
& Guilds will be replaced by the Diploma in Beauty Therapies
and Epilation with ITEC qualifications
In 2011 Caroline Dickson was awarded a medal for achieving the
highest exam mark in the world for City and Guilds.
After six years working as cabin crew for an airline in Britain,
Mrs Dickson decided last year that it was time for a change. Both
her children were at primary school so she felt it was a good time
to re-educate. Caroline is a Mother-of-two and has lived in Timaru
for almost five years, studied the Diploma in Beauty Therapy. "I
looked at what courses were available at Aoraki. I chose beauty
therapy because I've always had a passion for it and I've always
been interested in it."
She sat a two-hour written exam in June and found out this year
that she would be presented with the City and Guilds international
medal for excellence for receiving the highest mark in the world
for that exam. Only one medal is awarded per qualification level
around the world by City and Guilds, which is Britain's leading
provider of vocational qualifications. It has been operating since
1878 and has more than 8500 centres in around 100 countries.
Caroline now works at the Chandler Clinic in Timaru as a beauty
therapist and skin consultant."
